Join us for a deep dive into UFLI Foundations, an evidence-based phonics program grounded in the science of reading. This session will explore Scarborough’s Reading Rope infographic, focusing on unpacking its Word Recognition components to illustrate how skilled reading develops through the integration of Phonemic Awareness, Decoding and Sight Recognition. Participants will examine compelling student outcome data that demonstrates the transformative impact of UFLI instruction on reading proficiency.

We’ll also discuss how UFLI integrates with existing curriculum maps to ensure consistency and alignment across district instructional planning. A mini implementation training will include a modeled lesson, providing a practical demonstration of UFLI’s structure, routines, and instructional strategies.

Participants will receive a collection of resources created by University of Florida Literacy Institute, to support implementation, including access to the UFLI Foundations website, training videos, printable materials, manipulatives, and implementation guides. This session is ideal for educators, literacy coaches, and administrators seeking to strengthen early literacy instruction through research-based practices.
